Redding Bike Park

The Redding Parks & Trails Foundation is proud to be a Blue Square ($10,000) sponsor of the Redding Bike Park project in collaboration with the Redding Trail Alliance’s fundraising efforts. This project is part of a larger grant to revitalize our beloved Caldwell Park. This revitalization project started in 2022 after the City of Redding Community Services Department secured the $6.7 million grant, a portion of which is designated for building the bike park (along with the money being raised through RTA and community sponsors).

The Redding Bike Park is a sustainable recreation facility with broad appeal. Bike parks are enticing and intriguing, making them effective at drawing people into cycling. Modern bike parks offer purpose-built trails, designed and built by mountain bikers to maximize the potential for two-wheeled fun. A well-designed park offers challenging trails and riding features tailored to all skill levels. Some of these features include flow trails, jumps, pump tracks, technical courses, and many other types of bike-specific challenges.

The park is meant to complement our trail system and offer a progressive training ground for users to build their skills. The City of Redding is becoming known as a cycling community, with hundreds of miles of trails, bike lanes, multiple bike shops, bike events, a high school mountain bike team, and more. Cycling is very much a part of the Redding experience, and the Redding Bike Park will be the first in the area to offer the unique opportunities that only a bike park can offer.

Construction costs have skyrocketed in the last few years, making community support and fundraising a necessity to complete these projects. The Foundation understands this new reality and is stepping up our fundraising efforts to help bridge funding gaps for these important community projects. Our 2023 Giving Tuesday Campaign will be dedicated to raising money to purchase one of the 21 special features ($6,000) for the Redding Bike Park! Check out our 2023 Giving Tuesday campaign and find out how the Foundation will DOUBLE your GIVING!
