Cumberland Playground Project

Cumberland Park on Cumberland Drive is a popular destination for many families in the neighborhood and much of west Redding.  The current play structure is the original installation, which dates back to 1992.

The goal is to replace the existing play structure with a newer, bigger and better structure, and enlarge the play area, including a swing set and possibly a shaded picnic area. The City of Redding will fund replacement of the current play structure; however, public funds are insufficient to add other enhancements such as a swing set or a shaded picnic area. We need to raise approximately $50,000 in grants, donations, and in-kind contributions to complete the entire project.

Please join us for our primary fundraiser -Vine & Dine. This evening of fine wine paired with delectable food, live music, and a silent auction will be held at City Hall on May 12th, from 5:30 to 8. Please visit the Vine & Dine page to purchase tickets to this event.

Besides community volunteers to help with certain tasks during construction, sponsorships are available for the following playground items:

  • Mud puddle water feature – $2,500

  • Shade structure – $10,000

  • Swing set – $5,000

Personalized pavers are also available to help raise funds for the project. Pavers are $125 and can be ordered by filling out the personalized paver order form.
